Article about volleyball

Volleyball is one of the most popular team sports in the world, and it is characterized by fun and challenge as it depends on cooperation between players, focus and the ability to perform collectively. Volleyball was founded in the United States of America in 1895 by William Morgan, and has since developed into a global game played all over the world.

Game Basics

Volleyball is played between two teams of six players each on a rectangular court divided in half by a net. The main goal of the game is to send the ball over the net so that the opposing team can receive it incorrectly or be unable to return it in a proper manner.

The game begins with one service from the team that starts the game, then the ball is exchanged between the two teams via overhead or underhand strokes. Each team must try to avoid sending the ball out of the court or the ball falling to the ground in its own court.

Types of strokes in volleyball

1. Spiking: One of the most important strokes in the game, where the player lifts the ball to a high height and then hits it hard so that it falls in the opposing team's court.

2. Setting: The player lifts the ball using his fingers so that his teammate can hit it.

3. Blocking: It is an attempt to stop the ball attacking the opponent using the hands.

Benefits of volleyball

Improving physical fitness: Volleyball enhances endurance, muscle strength, and flexibility.

Enhancing cooperation: Because it is a team sport, it teaches players how to work together to achieve a common goal.

Developing motor skills: It helps improve eye-hand coordination and increases reaction speed.

Sportsmanship: It teaches players how to win with sportsmanship and how to deal with losses in a positive way.

Finally

Volleyball is a popular sport that is played by all ages. It is a game that requires discipline, focus, and teamwork. Despite its simplicity in terms of rules, it presents great challenges for practitioners, making it an enjoyable and exciting sport for everyone.
